Guess it's good I moved back here then.

Your result for The Where in America Do You Belong Test...

East Coast

The East Coast includes the New England states with a few others. They are the oldest region in the nation and they know it.

The East Coast gets credit for being tolerant, but that's only by one definition of the word. East Coast culture has every bit high standards of behavioral expectation that the South does, just on different (Usually opposite) things.

Take The Where in America Do You Belong Test at HelloQuizzy

Boo. Scary.

I didn't even know that there was a Ghost Hunters panel at Comic-Con. But there was, and you can see it here.

Daily Eye Candy

You know who's hot? James Franco.
You know who else is hot? James Franco's brother Dave.

Dollhouse at Comic-Con

God bless the internet. It used to be if you didn't go to Comic-Con, you basically relied on stories from people who did to find out what was said at the panels. Not anymore! And while I would have LOVED to be there myself, it's nice to still be able to listen to these people talk.

Here's Dollhouse.

HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE TEASER TRAILER!!!

FINALLY.

OMG.

Damn you JJ Abrams!

I really hate Star Trek. I mean, HAAAAAAATE. But leave it to the nefarious JJ Abrams to get me interested in another Star Trek movie. I thought Simon Pegg was enough to do it, but holy crap is Chris Pine hot!

I might end up being there opening night if there's even a hint that he takes his shirt off.

In order to stop watching 90210 reruns...

I thought I'd post the youtube vids of the entire Supernatural panel at Comic-Con.

His hair is epic.

Too bad he's forever linked to the ridiculousness that is the Twilight fandom. Don't get me wrong, I've read the Twilight books and enjoyed them enough to finish all three despite my utter hatred for the protagonist, and I plan on reading the final installment (which comes out on August 2nd). But the fangirls are insane. INSANE. And so, missing out on the Twilight panel at Comic-Con might not have been a bad thing.

Anyway, RPATTZ is awesome. Here's an interview he did with MTV. Here's one he did with The LA Times. And here's a report on the madness of the Twilight panel.

For those of you who missed it

You can now watch Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog in its entirety on HULU. So, go watch it already.

Oh, and also, here's some further Dr. Horrible press:

More Comic-Con stuff

NBC has posted the entire panels for The Office, Chuck and Heroes, among others. I'm only interested in those three, though.

The Office

Chuck

Heroes

Bring on another cute mug shot please.

The Beef was arrested yesterday for a DUI. Come on, Shia! Don't be like the rest of young Hollywood and act like a jackass. I want to keep loving you.

Comic-Con reports.

Ok, Comic-Con is over and I'll try to stop being bitter about it. My friend Sam and her boyfriend went for all four days and had a great time - all I've heard from them so far is that the Twilight panel was the stupidest thing ever, but screaming girls will make anything awful, and I'm sure the rest of the weekend was fantastic for them.

Moving on.

  • SciFi.com has the entire Battlestar Galactica panel up here. Watch it while you can.
  • TVSquad has a review of the Dr. Horrible/Joss Whedon panel here and this livejournal community has videos from it.
  • Some videos from the Dollhouse panel, which included Joss, Eliza and Tahmoh. If you can watch these and not fall in love with Tahmoh, then you must not have a heart. Or eyes.
  • This livejournal blogger has a really good account - with pictures - of all of the panels I would have gone to (and some I wouldn't have). Thursday. Friday. Saturday.
  • There was a life-sized Dalek there. I will try not to cry.
  • Maureen Ryan at the Chicago Tribune discusses Joss and Battlestar here.
  • Pop Watch says that the Heroes panel was packed with spoilers. And so, I'm linking to it, but not reading it myself.
  • Zachary Levi and Josh Gomez of Chuck interview Greg Grunberg and Tim Kring of Heroes:

I will try not to continue to bemoan the fact that I left CA and therefore missed seeing all these awesome people in one place. And awesome people I didn't mention because I couldn't find articles about them, like Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. San Diego was just a maelstrom of hot men this weekend.

Corey Haim fails again

According to this site, A&E is canceling The Two Coreys. I'm sure it's true, but I couldn't find anything official from the network, so until then, it's a rumor. But, Haim did have a complete meltdown, and most likely started doing drugs again. I still feel sorry for him, but he obviously doesn't want to help himself, you know?

I guess I'll have to continue watching I Love Money for my train wreck needs.

New Chuck Promo!

Damn, Zachary Levi is cute.

Definitely my favorite serial killer.

DEXTER SEASON THREE PROMO!!!

Awesome awesome awesome.

The truth is...in here.

The X-Files: I Want To Believe...kinda sucked. It was like a really long, mediocre episode of the show in it's final, and inferior, season with bonus Mulder and Scully snuggling in bed. Which was the best part for the Mulder/Scully shippers. Other than that...I'd suggest saving your money and waiting to Netflix it.

Please let there be a sequel!

EW.Com has a great interview - from Comic-Con, just to torture me - with all of the key people involved with Dr. Horrible. Good stuff.

TV Guide's Matt Roush analyzes Act III, and I agree with him.

Thursday, July 24, 2008

No, I'm not crying...ok, maybe a little.

Hugh Jackman made a surprise appearance today at Comic-Con. DAMMIT.

Who's going to see the X-Files this weekend?

I am, I am! And I bet my friend Jenni is too. I don't expect it to make Dark Knight money, but I have high hopes that it'll do well. I mean, it's Mulder and Scully. How can it go wrong?

How romantic

EW.com has a list of the 25 Most Romantic Scenes in Film...since 1983. I've seen most of these movies, and I agree with most of them. However, they left off a few that I love, so I thought I'd add my own.Jake Ryan celebrates Samantha's birthday with her after her whole family forgot, in Sixteen Candles.

Sam shows up on the pitcher's mound in Never Been Kissed.

Large gets off the plane in Garden State.

Jason Bourne washes, dyes and cuts Marie's hair in The Bourne Identity.

Guy kisses Faye in That Thing You Do!

Will buys the copy of Jane Eyre for April that she'd lost when she was a kid in Definitely, Maybe. (I couldn't find a screencap of that exact scene).

Donnie sacrifices his life for Gretchen's in Donnie Darko.

Have any to add? Leave me a comment!

Sweet Transvestite

I'm not a fan of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in the way that it brings me out to the theaters to throw things and dance the Time Warp in the aisle, but that doesn't mean that I think a remake is due. For what it is, Rocky Horror is pretty perfect. I just don't see why Hollywood insists on remaking movies that don't need it, or at all, rather than finding original scripts. I know they're out there; I worked for a literary agent. Give those little unknowns a chance, and leave the past alone.

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

Bring on September.

If there were awards for creative marketing of TV shows, Gossip Girl would have my vote. First there were the OMG and OMFG ads in magazines and on TV. Coming soon there will be ads for the new season using criticisms against them in the press as the text such as 'Every Parent's Nightmare'.

Brilliant.

Daily Eye Candy

I've been watching a lot of Burn Notice episodes trying to catch up, and it's hard not to notice how very attractive Jeffrey Donovan is.

And he's a Red Sox fan!

Now Debra, don't be bitter!

Yes, I admit it: I'm upset that I'm not going to be at Comic-Con this weekend. Just about every geeky thing I love will be represented there, and here I am, across the country. No Robert Pattinson, Battlestar Galactica, Mark Wahlberg, Watchmen, Lost, Dollhouse, Buffy musical screening, Caprica, Chuck, or Heroes for me.

And my friend Darnell gave me this idea last night.

I'm totally jealous if any of you are going. And if you are, and you see Michael Trucco there, please, send him my way. (I have no idea if he's scheduled to appear, I just didn't mention him specifically before).

Dollhouse news.

Joss Whedon is reshooting the Dollhouse pilot, and swears it was his idea, not Fox's. I trust Joss, and if he really felt like changes needed to be done, then I'm sure they were necessary. But where Fox is involved, awesome things get fucked with and/or cancelled. We'll see.

Oh, and he's planning on doing a webisode for each episode. I love that man.

Exterrrrrrrminate!!!!

I got one of these for my phone today, because almost nothing makes me giggle more than the Daleks. I figure, it'll help if I'm having a bad day or something. Every time my phone rings or I get a text, it flashes blue and spins. I only wish it included the Dalek voice too.

Jim Carrey is Back.

But doesn't this look sort of like Liar Liar?

There aren't any questions about Dylan!

Take the Old School 90210 Quiz here. I got 100%.

...Is that sad?

Tuesday, July 22, 2008

I love Simon Pegg

And I have a soft spot for Kirsten Dunst. Both were very cool when I met them.

Anyway, here's a trailer for their new movie.

Not Kara Thrace

As I'm sure everyone knows, 600 Starbucks locations are closing. The Huffington Post has the complete list of all 600. My former store manager in Los Angeles must be happy that her store isn't on the list (she was worried about this back in March).

And yet, I'm working in a brand new location out here in RI.

Possible Battlestar Galactica News

According to this site, Battlestar Galactica will be returning in January of 2009. I'm going to wait until I see it from a more official site, however, because I find it really hard to trust a site that spells back-door pilots "back-dour".

Harry Potter and the Lamest Teaser Trailer Ever.

So, a teaser trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was released in Imax theaters before The Dark Knight. And this is what it shows:

That's right. A whole lot of NOTHING. Come on, Warner Brothers, give us some Ron Weasley in his Quidditch uniform. Some Harry and Dumbledore in the cave. Some Hermione attacking Ron with canaries. Some Fred and George Weasley. ANYTHING.

Also, yesterday was the one year anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It really doesn't feel like a year.

Worst Cakes Ever.

Alright, so, in a little over a year I will be going to Pastry School, if all things work out in my favor. Which they will. Because I deserve it. Anyway, if I make it through Pastry School and end up making cakes like these, please tell me so I can go back and retrain.

CAPRICA TRAILER!!!!!

Holy anger Batman!

Christian Bale was arrested on Monday for assault. But this is the crazy part: he assaulted his mother and sister. I wish I had more details. I mean, his mom is 60!

In other news, The Dark Knight is fucking awesome, and apparently had the biggest box office ever. Take that, Spiderman.

Friday, July 18, 2008

Happy Batman Day!

I am going to see The Dark Knight in two and a half hours. I'm so excited I could cry.

Watchmen.

I remember working on trying to get some actors auditions for this movie, and being excited about the cast. Billy Crudup. Patrick Wilson. Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Matthew Goode. Carla Gugino. Malin Ackerman. All made of awesome. But as I've never read the graphic novel, I honestly didn't have any idea what it was about or what it should look like, or even if it would be good.

And then I watched the trailer today. And now you should too.

Oh. My. God.

Oh, here's a YouTube for the trailer, but if you can watch it bigger on the Apple site, you should. The bigger the better.

Thursday, July 17, 2008

Well. It could've been so much better.

I honestly don't know why I still care about these stupid awards, I really don't. And yet, here I am, all worked up because not as many people as I would have liked got nominated, and my precious Battlestar Galactica was almost wholly overlooked AGAIN.

Anyway. Here's the list.

I'm really happy for Chandra Wilson and Sandra Oh, both whom are overdue for a nomination for Grey's, and both whom did fantastic work last season. I'm happy for Lee Pace and Kristen Chenoweth for Pushing Daisies. My vote for best drama goes to Dexter, and best actor in a drama to Michael C. Hall - I'm SO HAPPY that the show, and MCH, were recognized. And I'm 100% on Team NPH. Give the man an Emmy! He deserves it so much.

I'm flabbergasted that Boston Legal is on that list AGAIN. That Julia Louis-Dreyfuss is nominated AGAIN. But, am I surprised? Nope.
