Just a few short months and it'll really be over
I hope JK Rowling does write that encyclopedia she hinted at. At least that would be something else from this world to feed our Hogwarts-loving appetites.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
HBO's First look for HP & the HBP. Looks pretty great, actually.

Finally!

Bill Nighy got his wish: he has officially been cast in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as none other than the Minister of Magic, Rufus Scrimgeour. Why the Minister wasn't written into Half-Blood Prince I'll never understand, especially considering he actually interacts with Harry in that one, and technically isn't in Deathly Hallows at all other than a few mentions. But, whatever. I need to separate the movies from the books and just try to enjoy them for what they are. And I do really like Bill Nighy.

Ron's the best sidekick ever!

Rolling Stone has named Rupert Grint, a.k.a. Ron Weasley, as their Hot Sidekick of the year. As he should be. There's no one more loyal than Ron. (Except for that time he left Harry and Hermione in the forest, but that was because of the horcrux and if you don't know what I'm talking about, READ THE HARRY POTTER BOOKS! They're fantastic).

Merlin's pants!
You know, I'm thinking that despite the changes made to this movie from the book, David Yates and co. may just have gotten it right. I am more excited than ever to see Half-Blood Prince now.
Holy. Crap.

Deathly Hallows casting news

Rhys Ifans has been cast as Xenophilius Lovegood in the final Harry Potter movie. I'm not sure how I feel about this, actually, mostly because I pictured Xenophilius Lovegood to be a bit older. But I like Rhys Ifans, so I'll take it.

New Half-Blood Prince posters

It's nice that Snape is getting a poster, even if that means they're kinda giving away who the Half-Blood Prince is to the people who haven't read the books. (And oops, sorry if I just spoiled it for anyone, but really? Why haven't you read the books?) Ron looks awesome in his Quidditch gear, and Hermione is looking a little too skinny but otherwise very pretty. I'm so excited about this movie.

These should get made.

An artist named M.S. Corley redesigned the covers of all seven Harry Potter books to look like vintage Penguin Classics, and they're absolutely perfect. If only Scholastic would commission the artist for these and re-release the books.

Aww, DanRad!

Daniel Radcliffe is turning out to be pretty cool.
"I am so proud and happy for this country. He is everything the rest of the world liked about America and now likes again. He is both Martin Luther King and JFK. He is a pioneer. He is a symbol of progress which is what we dig about this country. What you love about England is all the old buildings and such. The traditions. I love that, too. But this is what we want from you.
And may I? I’d like to take this opportunity to issue a public invitation to the Obamas that if their daughters would like a private tour of the Harry Potter set, I would be honored to be their personal tour guide."
From this interview.

New Half-Blood Prince international trailer
It sucks that this isn't coming out until next summer. It also sucks that they felt the need to change so much. But other than that, AWESOME. I totally had goosebumps.
