I don't understand the outrage, exactly. Movies are made about wars/terrorist attacks/etc. I'm assuming this movie would be dramatic and probably cheesy, but trump about the heroic actions of a really badass pilot on a crazy crash in which no one was killed. It's not like the trajedy is too recent, seeing as there wasn't one. What's the harm? Or is it just Tom Cruise that's the problem?
I find it disrespectful to look at a news story in the process of happening and think "There's a movie there." It's distasteful. Let the people get out of the water before you start plotting out your film.
