Give Chuck Another Season, NBC

Zachary Levi was recently at a convention in the UK, where he brought all of the con-goers to a nearby Subway in honor of his show in an attempt to save it from cancellation.

If you love Chuck, which you should, please go to Subway today and buy a $5 footlong. Leave a note in the comment box telling them that you're there trying to save Chuck. Subway is a sponsor of the show, and NBC will be informed. Do it, do it, do it! The show is hilarious, Zach Levi is gorgeous, and Adam Baldwin should always be on your television.

Did I really start listening to Green Day 16 years ago? Wow.

Watch their brand new video for "Know Your Enemy", the first single from their upcoming album 21st Century Breakdown:

The video's alright; the song KICKS ASS.

I couldn't love these two more

The Hunt For Gollum

I don't know who these guys are that made this, but it's a trailer for a short, online film called The Hunt For Gollum, and it looks amazing. The casting as far as looks and feel go is on par with The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and the quality is impeccable. It reminded me how much I absolutely love LOTR.

HAHA Beyonce sucks live

So, apparently when Beyonce performed on the Today show recently, she was basically lipsincing along with a pre-recorded track, but the mic was on for the sound board feed. And somehow Howard Stern got a recording of how Beyonce actually sounds when she sings and it. is. AMAZING.

Amazingly awful.

Seriously, everyone on American Idol is better than her.

ETA: Ok, so this was a hoax. I really wish it were true, but, it's not. Well played, guy from Connecticut.

I love this band

Chester French performed on last night's Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, and they were awesome. Their singer reminds me of what Ron Weasley would be like if he were in a band...and real, of course.

Damn, Kris Allen is awesome

Once again, for the second week in a row, Kris Allen gave what I feel was the best performance on American Idol last night. He did a stripped down, Mraz-y version of "She Works Hard For The Money", and he did it brilliantly. I couldn't find a video that actually showed him performing, so this one (the audio of the performance) will have to do:

Also, that boy looks like this with his shirt off:

His wife is a lucky girl.

And so it begins

The first pictures from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows showed up online. I'm nervous about how this one is going to turn out only because the book is so epic, but based on these pics, so far so good.

And tomorrow two go home...

Tonight is DISCO NIGHT on American Idol. Disco Night. Now, let me ask something: while I understand that the point of this show is to find someone who is "versatile", isn't it also to find someone who knows thyself and what type of "artist" they want to be? Then how in the world is DISCO NIGHT an appropriate theme? It's like last year with Andrew Lloyd Weber night. That was a night of torturous bullshittery.

This is gonna be baaaaaaad, y'all.

You know I'll watch KBell in anything, ever.

So why would this be any different? Will she get together with Josh Duhamel's character at the end? Most likely. (And, come on, so would any girl, really). But still, while it might be typical, predictable rom-com stuff, it still looks cute.

Oh good God.

There is just not a thing wrong with Chris Pine's face. He's gorgeous.

Bad move, Brendan

I love Survivor, but this is the second season in a row where my favorite player made a stupid, rookie mistake and was voted off just after the merge. What is it with these strong, well-liked players HOLDING IMMUNITY IDOLS getting blindsided? It's sad. I DO NOT want to see Coach win this season. If that happens, I may have to stop watching forever.

Here's a good interview with this week's cast off, Brendan. The one good thing about his vote off is that for the rest of the show we'll get to see him all cleaned up and pretty. Because he is awfully pretty.

Chandler and Eddie, reunited.

Tonight on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, the guests are Matthew Perry and Adam Goldberg. And do you know what I want more than anything to happen? For them to reminisce, giggle and reenact scenes from Friends when Adam played Eddie, Chandler's crazy roommate in Season 2.

Don't remember? Here's a reminder:

LMAO.

Ben Linus makes everything creepy

Michael Emerson was on The Jimmy Fallon Show last night, and was asked to read a nursery rhyme, creepily. And the result is awesome.

Michael Emerson seems like a really nice guy when he's not being Ben.

Merlin's pants!

You know, I'm thinking that despite the changes made to this movie from the book, David Yates and co. may just have gotten it right. I am more excited than ever to see Half-Blood Prince now.

Holy. Crap.

And speaking of Kristen Bell...

She's been cast in something called 'You Again', which sounds juuuust this side of your generic romcom, though seemingly minus the 'rom'. It sounds sort of like a mix of 'My Best Friend's Wedding' and 'Mean Girls', which actually could turn out to be very funny.

Ah, Russell Brand.

I really, really like Russell Brand, as most people seem to lately. I'm admittedly late on this particular bandwagon, but at least I'm aboard. He's really intelligent under all that make-up and teased hair, and undeniably funny, though his humor might not be everyone's favorite type. His book, My Booky Wook, is great, by the way. And the sequel to Forgetting Sarah Marshall, 'Get Him To The Greek', has a pretty great cast. Not sure if there'll be any cameos by Kristen Bell or Jason Segel, but we can always hope.

JASON CASTRO!

Jason Castro, my favorite goofball Idol contestant last year, has finally signed a record deal! Considering I downloaded almost all of his performances last year, chances are I'll be buying his CD. His voice is great, and he's just such a nice guy.

European shows are weird

I don't know what this Spanish show is other than obviously goofy, but watch how awesome Hugh Jackman continues to always be.

Man, I can't wait to see Wolverine.

Idle Idol talk

Kris Allen was the only person to choose a current, moving song from a film on last night's Idol, and in my opinion he killed it, in a good way.

Everyone else chose the same shit we've been hearing year after year on this show, including what may be the two worst Bryan Adams songs ever (sorry, Matt and Anoop). Adam was Adam, again making my ears bleed, but at least he was ADAM about it. I appreciate his showmanship every week, even if I usually can't stand to listen to him. Kris and Adam were definitely the best of the night. And as much as I hate to say it, I think Matt will be in the bottom two again, but I think it's Lil's week to go. As pretty as The Rose is, it was, once again, boring. She needs to go back to her family, because an interesting performer she is not.

My fingers are crossed that Matt makes it through, and if he does land in the least voted for position, that the judges enact that Veto we've been hearing so much about all season.

We interrupt this hiatus for something completely self-aware

Surprisingly self aware, actually. I have to say, while most of the time I think Lindsay Lohan actually is crazy - the US Weekly interview with her is a little nuts - then I remind myself that the girl is 22 and has been famous for half her life, so she probably doesn't know how to be what we would consider "normal". And who wasn't a little nutty at times when they were 22?

So, this Funny or Die video that Lindsay did is awesome, and I applaud her for doing it.

Now, back to unpacking.

Small hiatus

I'm moving today, so I'll be back in a couple days once I get settled in my new place. Hopefully the world of pop culture won't explode while I'm away so I don't have too much to catch up on once I'm back in the swing of things!

Until then, here's some Jensen Ackles. Because you can never have too much Jensen Ackles.
XOXO!

From the director of Office Space

Extract, starring a bunch of people I love a lot: Jason Bateman, Ben Affleck, Mila Kunis, Kristen Wiig and JK Simmons, as well as some others. Looks pretty funny.

Kristen Bell makes a plea

Following in Chris Lowell's lead, my girlcrush Kristen Bell makes a plea to the cast of Gossip Girl.

How much money do you want to bet that Chris is the one who filmed this video?

Damn you, Adam Lambert

It's like he won't rest until I love him. He may have won me over with this performance, which you might have missed if you weren't watching it live or didn't record Fringe because American Idol ran 8 or so minutes long. And sure, he's just doing Gary Jules' Donnie Darko version of Mad World, but that doesn't make it any less brilliant.

He's still not my favorite - that title belongs to Matt - but when he isn't making my ears bleed, he's pretty fucking amazing.

Bones is such a fun show

And it looks like they have fun making it.

Are you watching? You should be.

Brothers Bloom trailer

Great, great cast. A friend of mine saw this at the Toronto Film Festival and said it was by far the best movie she saw there. I think it looks fantastic.

Cherrybomb trailer

Ron Weasley all grown up. Rockabilly looks good on him.

I want.

Seriously. I want a hedgehog. How effing cute!!!

Awesome!

How cool is it that Kal Penn left the show House to go work at THE WHITE HOUSE?! So cool. He's now the associate director in the White House office of public liaison. Go Kumar!!

I shouldn't think this is hot

It's destructive and all but...James Franco trashing a room is pretty hot. Now I just need to see all 38 minutes.

BRoLove?

Sure, it's a retarded name, but what else do we have? Bobin? Robney?

Friday, April 3, 2009

I like Chris Lowell's pleas to other celebrities.

Here's his plea to my girlcrush, Kristen Bell.

He's so adorable. Really.
